@uygyouth exists to platform Uyghur young voices, preserve our culture and language, and connect our diaspora communities across the world. We are youth-led, internationally minded, and rooted in the belief that visibility is an act of courage.
We amplify the voices of youth Uyghurs who deserve to be heard. Through content, storytelling, and public advocacy, we create space for our community to speak, and for the world to listen.
Our culture and language are living, breathing things worth protecting. We are committed to documenting, celebrating, and passing on Uyghur heritage so that it endures across generations and borders.
Diaspora can mean distance: from home, from culture, from each other. We bring Uyghur youth together across countries and time zones, building a community that allows us all to feel belonging.
@uygyouth began in a group chat. A messy, passionate, global thread of young Uyghurs full of potential that no one had yet known what to do with. In 2025, Syedda Nazeeya, alongside Emin, decided to do something about it.
What started as a spark of recognition that these young people deserved a real platform, community, and home for their culture became an international organisation spanning four countries in a matter of months. @uygyouth is proof that one person choosing to show up can move others to do the same.
We are a youth-led organisation founded in 2025 and built by and for Uyghur diaspora youth. Our team spans four countries, our audience spans the globe, and our mission is rooted in three simple but powerful commitments, from which all of our projects branch.
We are volunteers, advocates, creators, and community builders. Some of us show up publicly, some of us work quietly behind the scenes. All of us believe that our culture, our language, and our stories are worth fighting for.
Everything we do at @uygyouth comes back to our three pillars. We create and share content that puts Uyghur voices at the centre: stories, perspectives, and experiences that deserve to be seen and heard by a wider world.

We build community. Through events, programs, and initiatives in cities like Sydney and across Canada, we are taking our work off the screen and into the real world, creating spaces where Uyghur youth can meet, connect, and belong. We do all of this because we believe that visibility, action, and change are contagious.
